Hotel Overview
Rich in history, the Tjampuhan valley became the focal point of Bali's artistic community when in 1934, the Prince of Ubud, Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati, joined with celebrated Western artists Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet to create an artists' association they named Pita Maha. "Pita Maha" in English translates to "Great Shining". In 1994, to commemorate the birth of this artistic force and to keep alive the original philosophy, The Pita Maha Resort was created and opened its doors on 01 December 1995.
